How We Calculate This

This calculator works out the cut size for your labels based on the finished label dimensions and your chosen construction method, then calculates how much fabric you need for a batch.

Cut size formulas

  • Folded: Width + 2 × seam allowance, Height × 2 + 2 × seam allowance
  • Pressed edge: Width + 2 × fold allowance, Height + 2 × fold allowance
  • Raw edge: Width + 1cm, Height + 1cm (for fray-check margin)

Labels per row = floor(fabric width ÷ cut width). Fabric length = rows needed × cut height.
