How We Calculate This
Ruffles require strips of fabric cut and gathered. The total strip length depends on the fullness ratio.
The formula
Total strip length = Finished length × Fullness ratio
Strips from fabric = ceil(Strip length ÷ Fabric width)
Fabric metres = Strips × (Ruffle depth + 3cm SA) ÷ 100
