Flounce Calculator — Circular Flounce Radii

Calculate inner and outer radii for circular flounces.

Edge where flounce attaches

1=gentle, 2=standard, 3=full

How We Calculate This

A flounce is cut from circular rings of fabric. The inner radius determines the attachment edge curve; the outer radius determines the total flounce depth.

The formula

Inner circumference = Attachment length ÷ Fullness

Inner radius = Inner circumference ÷ (2π)

Outer radius = Inner radius + Flounce depth + SA

Circles needed = Attachment length ÷ (2π × Inner radius)
