Taking In Calculator — Reduce Garment Size

Calculate how much to take in at seams for a smaller fit.

Seams to distribute across

How We Calculate This

The total reduction is divided equally across the selected number of seams. Each seam is taken in equally from both sides for a balanced result.

The formula

Total reduction = Current - Desired measurement

Per seam = Total reduction ÷ Number of seams

Per side of seam = Per seam ÷ 2
